International Food Stylist specializing in food styling, recipe and product development and food writing, Emma’s skills range from developing and writing delectable, enticing recipes and features to producing artfully styled food and drinks for photography and film.
After obtaining a Diploma in Food & Beverage Management and later a Degree in Consumer Sciences and Nutrition, Emma spent the early part of her career in the Catering field, responsible for menu planning and staff training. Whilst working as Food & Beverage Lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, she attended a part-time photography course, with the aim of taking photos of the student’s practical exams plates. This sparked a new interest in food styling.
Emma was fortunate to train under the expert guidance of Lisa Clark, Justine Kiggen, Fay Lewis and Vanessa Hickey, experts in their areas of food styling and recipe development.
Emma’s food & nutrition background provides an essential foundation for clients’ specific needs. She has been involved in cookbooks, local and international TV commercials as well as advertising and editorial work. Emma also travels on a regular basis for international projects, with some works being completed in Tanzania, Dubai, Beirut and Zanzibar.
Emma is well presented, a person who communicates easily with clients and team members alike. She is an energetic and versatile individual with a “can-do” attitude and working personality.
